The modern society has shaped new expectations for baby food. Today is the time of innovation – apart from quality and safety, consumers also seek healthy benefits and nice presentation. The industrial food for babies under 3 can practically satisfy the daily needs of the growing organisms.
On Wednesday, October 9, Moscow hosted the International Agricultural & Industrial Forum organized by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. One of the objectives was to assess the global outlook of the food segment taking into account the new trends in bioengineering, medicine, food processing and cooking technologies.
In the Food of the Future session, Dmitry Makarkin, Innovation & Change Management Director at PROGRESS, shared his vision of the nutrition agenda for the youngest inhabitants of our planet. It is today when the culture of future consumption is being formed. Adult health is programmed during the first 1,000 days of life. This period includes 270 days during pregnancy and the next 2 years of life.
A key factors of future human health highlighted by Dmitry Makarkin is that “the children under 12 months are not recommended to consume foods with added sugar, syrup, honey or sweeteners. The level of sodium in their diet should also be reduced down to 50 mg per 100 kcal.”
Over the last 30 years, high technologies have transformed not only our rhythm of life, but also our habits. The modern society has shaped new expectations for baby food. The basic requirements are still quality and safety. The new is healthy benefits and presentation.
PROGRESS also takes into account the needs of working parents and offers them a number of ready meal options, including soup that can be heated in the microwave ovens or products with interactive packaging that help develop motor skills and imagination. “The products in pouch and fruit snacks are convenient and healthy snacks for out-of-home consumption,” the Company representative said.
Innovation is a key criteria for PROGRESS when it comes to new product development. By entering new baby food categories, the Company shapes a new culture of consumption and healthy living. PROGRESS also strives to use new convenient packaging formats that meet the up-to-date global trends. The Company’s factory in Lipetsk, which is already one of the most modern baby food production sites in Europe, regularly enhances its production processes leveraging the latest domestic and international technologies. Thus, the organization reduces the content of sugar in its products and enriches them with such healthy elements as vitamins, prebiotics and probiotics, which makes the products even more valuable and healthy.
