The PROGRESS Company, one of the leaders in the area of baby food production, has announced a 100% transition to the FSC-certified package Tetra Pak.
PROGRESS JSC which produces products for small children under the brand names of FrutoNyanya
and Malysham, believes that the transition to Tetra Pak packaging with the FSC mark and participation in the global ecological movement for the preservation of forests and their inhabitants will help save the planet for the future our children.
The PROGRESS company has announced the usage of exclusively FSC-certified packaging Tetra Pak for its products. Consumers can already see the FSC-mark on all products for children of “FrutoNyanya" and "Malysham" brands. Marketing director Anna Ivanova noted: "This decision is a logical continuation of our work. We take care of our young consumers, providing them with high-quality food today and preserving for them the riches and biological diversity of Russian forests for tomorrow. As the largest consumer of cardboard packaging, we have a unique opportunity to contribute to responsible forest management. The full transition to FSC-certified packaging was made possible for us thanks to our cooperation with the largest manufacturer of Tetra Pak cardboard packaging , a company well-known for its responsible approach to business, every second packaging of which in Russia is now FSC-certified."
Tetra Pak is the world leader in food processing and food packaging solutions. "It is important that manufacturing companies take care of the replenishment of natural resources and observe ecological balance, and the buyers contribute to the conservation of wildlife and forest biodiversity in Russia by choosing products made of FSC-certified cardboard, paper and wood. Our long-time partner, PROGRESS, supported us in choosing FSC-certified cardboard and achieved really impressive results," said Dina Epifanova, head of the Tetra Pak Environmental Protection Department for Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Central Asia.
Forests occupy more than half of the territory of Russia. Only by making an informed choice in favor of FSC-certified products from environmentally responsible sources will we be able to preserve the forests for ourselves and future generations. The work of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is aimed at promoting responsible forest management and preventing the degradation and destruction of forests around the world. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) also supports the initiative of FSC and Tetra Pak. The fundamental principles of responsible forest management are implemented in forest management around the world through the FSC certification system, the forest management standards. FSC mark - "a tree with a tick" - is a guarantee that loggers and processors have produced their products with care for people whose lives depend on the forest, as well as on animals living in forests.
As Andrey Ptichnikov, Executive Director of FSC in Russia, commented: "Many adults know that PROGRESS, the manufacturer of the brands FrutoNyanya and Malysham, the popular baby food, helps people to be healthy from the very childhood. It is gratifying to understand that our forests are in such careful and attentive hands. Transition of the PROGRESS company solely to certified Tetra Pak packaging is not only an important event in the world of responsible forest management in Russia, but also an excellent example for other national and foreign companies. In this regard, we urge all parents who care about their own peace and, of course, the health and future of their children, to make their choice in favor of the products of responsible companies. The preference of products from FSC-certified cardboard is a personal vote in favor of preserving forests in Russia and the world."
